Full-time, Contract to Hire! Excellent career opportunity! This is technical services support work with responsibility for the coordination of processing payment check runs. The incumbent has prime responsibility for the installation, operation and maintenance of user desktop computing equipment and peripherals, and end-user training. Additional responsibilities include assisting in the daily operation of the Client data center, installation and support of desktop computing equipment, installation and support of printers, tracking and ordering of supplies and spare equipment, and the development and maintenance of Operations documentation.
Plans and coordinates the processing of benefit checks and advices, member refund checks, special checks and year-end IRS 1099 forms.
Assists in the computer room operation of computing resources to ensure maximum up-time and efficient operation in order to meet Client processing requirements.
Operates specialized equipment for check and advice printing, finishing, and counting process in accordance with technical and internal control standards.
Monitors and verifies job run listings in order to ensure completeness and correctness of each job execution.
Coordinates mass mailings with State and US Post Office.
Coordinates, organizes and places supply orders for the Information Technology Division.
Documents and maintains equipment inventories, expendable supply stocking levels, and Computer Operations pre-printed forms for IT in support of users.
Establishes and maintains alphabetical, numerical, and chronological files in either electronic or paper media (i.e., for pending supply or parts orders, inventory control, surplus records, equipment values, etc.).
Provides orientation to new employees and advises and/or instructs network users on operational aspects of the computer operating system such as capabilities, limitations, defaults, etc.
Provides Client staff with hands-on and phone support for non-routine desktop computing problems responding to HelpDesk requests. Recommends to users procedures and/or instructions for use with computer systems (e.g., short cuts, suggestions, alternatives).
For more complex problems, gathers details through field and bench work, determines the seriousness of the problem, and applies experience to diagnose and resolve the issue.
Configures, installs and maintains desktop computing and printing equipment according to approved Client guidelines and standards.
Communicates user problems to appropriate developer or network staff.
Prepares documentation of operating and maintenance procedures for other IT Operations personnel to support the day to day operation of the Client automated systems.
Evaluates and comments on supply proposals, contracts, and purchases including outsourcing requirements, to assist IT staff.
Assists with the daily tape archiving process.
Provides support for tablet and smart phone devices including integration into the Client network infrastructure.
Assists with client OS testing, support and configuration for new and existing Operating Systems.
Provides technology support for Medical Board meetings including assistance with video conferencing and other telecom needs.
Provides backup telephone and voicemail system and end user support.
Provides technical support for the Medical Board doctors with the process of securely transmitting confidential information to Client Disability staff.
Provides support for the training lab configuration and setup including custom classroom communication applications.
Performs other duties as required.
Knowledge of desktop, hardware, and operating systems including their installation and setup.
Knowledge of computer related peripheral equipment configurations, operation and utilization.
Knowledge of proper backup and disaster recovery procedures as assigned.
Knowledge of basic change management principles as related to the effect of automation within the work environment.
Knowledge of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation at a level equivalent of that used in writing or adjusting written materials of complex/technical nature.
Demonstrated skill in record keeping and organization.

Minimum qualifications: Four (4) years of experience working in a computer operations environment providing a solid working knowledge of computer operations plus nine (9) college credits in Computer Science; or other equivalent experience and/or training demonstrating comparable knowledge. Must be able to lift 75 lbs. from floor to desk surface. Two good employment references. Mature work ethic.
Preferred qualifications: An Associates degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or a related field from an accredited college or university is preferred.
