Administrative Assistant-Loan Servicing in Augusta, ME
Full-time, Contract to Hire opening with this well-known and respected non-profit organization! Duties will entail:

Oversee and process inquiries/requests for information; respond to phone calls, provide technical assistance, interpret and communicate guidelines and conduct research when needed.

Provide technical support to internal and external partners; develop and maintain knowledge of loan servicing procedures, policies, process', systems and related federal and state regulations and mortgage insurance or government guarantor requirements; maintain/update loan servicing manual; distribute policy change notices to Loan Servicers; work with Loan Administration team to develop training materials.

Perform detailed record-keeping and data entry; maintain loan files by filing correspondence and notices; update applicable reports and/or databases; archive loan files.

Compile and analyze data and prepare technical reports associated with loan portfolio's, delinquent accounts and real estate holdings; prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports.

Process expense reimbursement requests; reconcile requests from Loan Servicers to ensure all allowable expenses were properly claimed, supported and reimbursed; prepare check request or wire instructions for payment of expense; maintain and update database, reports and loan files to track all timelines and any processing delays.

Process notices for liens associated with taxes, water, sewer, hazard insurance cancellations and bankruptcy notifications; review and determine appropriate action, update systems and refer to Loan Servicer when appropriate.

Prepare discharges for mortgages; verify loan eligibility for discharge; draft and review discharge form.

Process incoming checks; log checks daily; complete disbursement memos and submit to accounting for application of funds

Process incoming/outgoing mail; other duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of mortgage loan documentation, procedures and functions, as well as collections, foreclosure bankruptcy, mortgage lending, and loss mitigation. Strong mathematical, analytical, and communication skills, as well as an intermediate level of Microsoft Office knowledge is needed to be successful in this role. Full-time, Monday - Friday, Contract to Hire! Tasks will include:

- Performing various clerical duties to support Deposit Operations

- Maintain Safe Deposit Box billing and record keeping

- Process back-up withholding, levies, power of attorneys, trust and subpoenas for the appropriate State and Federal agencies

- Perform various IRA functions

- Assist Manager with testing various system upgrades for implementation on the live system; troubleshoot and test new products

Interview/process applicants for all types of loans, including but not limited to consumer, credit card and mortgage.
Conduct closings and complete post-closing paperwork and all appropriate filings.
Present completed loan application to a Loan Officer.
Communicate with members for reasons of approval, denial and counter offers; explore other options.
Work collectively with the lending dept. on basic consumer collections.
