General Plant Manager in Prospect Harbor, ME 04669
Description
Excellent career opportunity located on the beautiful coast of Maine. BASS is recruiting for an experienced General Plant Manager for our food processing client. In this position, you will oversee all plant operations: production, maintenance, quality, team members; and other production-related activities.

Key elements you will be responsible for:

-Direct and manager production, maintenance, quality, and shipping and receiving.
-Lead and coordinate plant activities with departmental managers to ensure the manufacturing objectives are met in a cost-effective manner.
-Develop and control cost with team plans and budget.
-Implement cost effective systems of control over capital, operating expenditures, labor force, and salaries.
-Manages capital asset maintenance.
-Establish and monitor overall plant performance for production and quality standards.
-Control and minimize labor overtime, premium freight and repair expenses.
-Maintain existing plant facilities and equipment; replace, or make adjustments to plant facilities and equipment when necessary.
-Provide leadership and training to accomplish the company goals and objectives.
-Implements and maintains preventative maintenance programs.
-Consistently incorporates and executes shop floor organization and plant cleanliness among plant personnel.
-Fosters & creates a “team atmosphere” that focuses on respect to all and drives for continuous improvement.
Requirements
What you will bring to the position:

Five (5) years plant/general management experience in a manufacturing environment. Bachelor's degree in related field a plus.

Experience with Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies (i.e. Six Sigma)

-Leadership: Communicates a vision and inspires motivation; engages with team to solve problems; focused on major goals while managing within a context of multiple directives.
-Communication: Clearly conveys and receives information; Excellent listening skills; Keeps team informed; Demonstrates good written and oral skills.
-Decision making/problem solving: Ability to break down problems into components and recognizes interrelationships; make sound, well-informed, and objective decisions. Compares data, information, and input from a variety of sources to draw conclusions; takes action that is consistent with available facts, constraints, and probable consequences.
-Financial Acumen: Understands company financial metrics and performance and the impact business decisions have on the P&L, balance sheet and cash flow statements.
-Must be able to travel up to 20%. Have valid driver's license and good driving record.
-Meet all background check requirements.

Description
Outstanding opportunity for a candidate with supply chain experience. BASS is recruiting for a Procurement & Logistics Specialist (Materials & Inventory) for our growing manufacturing client. Your primary responsibilities will be procurement, shipping, and inventory control.

Some tasks to include:

- Place orders for all materials used in the manufacturing process at best pricing
- Setup and manage all shipping partners & track all inbound and outbound shipments
- Develop, track, and maintain accurate shop inventory and prepare weekly status reports
- Deliver materials to the respective production work cells and departments

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $17.00 to $22.00 /hour
Requirements
~To apply, you will need to have relevant work experience in supply chain management.

Operations, scheduling, planning and/or expediting, and transportation coordination preferred.

~Our client is growing and needs candidates who have the willingness and ability to continue to learn new skills, processes and technologies over time is a must.

~Ability to communicate clearly and professionally on phones and email is critical.

~You must good computer skills. Ability to use online systems, MS Word/ Excel and standard office automation technology is required.

~Demonstrate a highly motivated work ethic & Ability to accurately follow instructions and take direction.

~Ability to respond to frequently changing production pressures & must handle numerous projects in progress at one time.

~Must have valid driver's license and will need to meet all background checks requirements.

Education: High School diploma required, Associates in Business or related a plus

This full-time position will go permanent once evaluation requirements are met.
